(ECNS) -- China’s annual COVID-19 vaccine production capacity has reached 7 billion doses and its annual output has exceeded 5.5 billion doses, according to data released at a press conference Wednesday by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
According to the press conference, the weekly production capacity of key enterprises for antigen test kits and for nucleic acid testing can satisfy the requirements of over 500 million people and over 200 million people respectively.
The weekly production capacity of enterprises engaging in N95 and KN95 mask production has surpassed 100 million and enterprises involved in producing Azvudine, a drug for Covid-19 treatment, can satisfy the needs of over 700,000 people per week.
The production capacity of Covid-19 related materials is capable of meeting the demands for pandemic prevention and control, He Yaqiong, head of the ministry's department of consumer goods industry, said at the press conference.
