Removing tariffs on China in fundamental interests of U.S.: MOC

(ECNS) -- It is in the fundamental interest of U.S. consumers and enterprises that the country removes tariffs on China under the current situation of high inflation, said the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on Thursday.

It would be beneficial to the U.S., China, and the whole world, MOC spokesperson Shu Jueting told a press conference.

Shu's remarks followed U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen's announcement on Wednesday that she supports the cancellation of some punitive tariffs against China.
