(ECNS) -- A family visiting the Beijing Wildlife Park in the city's Daxing District got out of their car to view the white tigers there, but safely returned to their car after repeated requests to do so by staff members, the park said.
The tourists first left their Toyota SUV near the waterfowl area and were stopped by park staff. However, they repeated their actions when they came to the white tiger area.
A spokesperson for the park said the visitors left their car at about 10:20 a.m. on Sunday to view the tigers. A staff member was immediately on the scene, but failed to persuade them to get back in their car. Two minutes later, the area's duty manager arrived and successfully convinced them to return to their vehicle.
No one was injured during the incident, and the tourists did not leave their car again.
The park bans self-driving visitors from leaving their cars while sightseeing in the park, and also has taken measures to ensure that any violators of the rule are immediately detected.
Last July, a woman was killed by a Siberian tiger and her daughter was injured after they left their car on a safari-style tour of the park.
