(ECNS) -- Holders of exit-entry permits to Hong Kong or Macao can now process themselves in three minutes using newly installed self-help automatic machines in Beijing.
Card-type permit holders can use the machines to facilitate their applications, and applicants (including foreigners) can make payments using a bankcard or cash at a counter.
The machines have been put in operation at the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau and its district branches including Dongcheng, Chaoyang, Haidian, Shijingshan, Tongzhou, Changping, Mentougou, Fangshan, Daxing, and Miyun, according to the bureau.
More automatic machines will be installed at exit-entry halls to facilitate visits to Hong Kong or Macao, it was added.
Some functions of the machine, like endorsement inquiries, are reserved for Beijing residents only.
