(ECNS) -- The parents of two bullied students have urged Internet users to stop forwarding a video that went viral online.
The video clip captures the two students being beaten and insulted by 14 other students at a picnic in Mianchi County of Central China's Henan Province on April 9.
The parents said sharing the video could cause further harm to the victims and encourage other children to turn to violence.
Local police placed four of the alleged offenders under administrative detention and disciplined another eight attackers who are under 14 years old. Two more suspects are under further investigation.
The county's educational authorities have invited psychological counseling experts to assist the victims. Middle and elementary schools in the county have also organized activities to increase awareness of the law.
