(ECNS) -- The Embassy of China in Thailand has warned tourists in the southeast Asian country to be cautious in regards to personal safety following a bomb explosion in downtown Bangkok.
Three Chinese people died in the blast that occurred Monday night.
The embassy issued a statement Tuesday warning Chinese citizens already in or planning to visit Thailand. Visitors are advised to carefully choose travel routes.
Three kilograms of TNT were reportedly used in the explosion which killed 22 people at the Erawan Shrine in Bangkok. Windows up to hundreds of meters away were also shattered by the shockwave. Thai police have yet to decide the exact location of the bomb as their investigation continues.
Thai police have successfully disarmed two suspected explosive devices. However, Thai authorities are refusing to confirm speculations of terrorism, as no individual or organization has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
Some 438 schools in Bangkok closed their doors on Tuesday after the explosion.
