(ECNS) -- Discredited citizens will no longer be allowed to ride high speed trains as China's Supreme Court expands punishments against subjects of law enforcement that refuse to proceed with executions following court convictions, according to people.com.cn.
The Supreme Court introduced expanded punishment methods in a revised version of a regulation Tuesday, which aims to limit high-end consuming practices for discredited subjects of law enforcement.
Limits apply to activities that are deemed unnecessary for daily life or business, says Liu Guixiang, a Full-Time Member of the Judicial Committee of the Supreme People's Court (SPC), as well as chief of the SPC enforcement bureau.
Previously existing limits took effect in 2010 and restricted options in more than nine types of high-end consumption, including travel by air or soft sleeper train, residence in star hotels, and vocations.
Once discredited, the enforced individuals can no longer ride on G-series high-speed trains or book first class seats on any other speed trains.
For discredited institutions, the responsible individuals, including legal representatives and direct execution officials, will be subject to consumption limits.
