(ECNS) - More than half of the interviewees in a recent survey believe that private cars are not suitable for the booming carpooling industry.
The survey, jointly conducted by China News Service's Internet portal and market research company Data100, finds that 56.82 percent of interviewees are concerned about their safety and market disorder if private cars offer the taxi-like service.
Of the interviewees, 32 percent say they have used carpool services, while more than 60 percent say they have not.
In addition, 34.5 percent say they feel that company-owned cars, rather than cars owned by individuals, are the most reliable.
Meanwhile, 23 percent of interviewees think private cars serve the purpose well, and 42 percent don't mind if the car belongs to a company or an individual.
