據上海市政府新聞辦公室官方微博“上海發布”消息，在回答記者提問時，上海外灘擁擠踩踏事件聯合調查組成員說，要適時在全市重要公共場所設立顯示屏、戶外廣播等安全提示設施；做好監測預警和應急準備，備足安保力量，加強現場疏導；必要時采取人流管控措施，嚴防人流對沖等隱患；及時發布預警信息，引導市民游客采取合理避險措施。[查看全文]

(ECNS) -- Shanghai has announced new security measures aimed at preventing tragedies following the fatal New Year's Eve stampede.

The local government will improve its emergency response abilities and beef up control of the movement of people at scenic areas, the city's Information Office said at a press conference on Wednesday morning.

Public display screens and outdoor radios would issue timely information on flows of people, so that prompt measures can be taken to ensure public safety.

According to the victim list, 36 revelers were killed and 49 others injured in the stampede, with ages ranging between 12 and 37.
