Jack Ma wants to pen Alibaba's Thousand and One Mistakes

(ECNS) -- Jack Ma, founder and chairman of China's leading e-commerce company Alibaba Group, has said he wants to write a book called "Alibaba's 1,001 mistakes" because he sees errors as the most precious type of experience. 

He made the statement during a forum involving business leaders from both the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.

Ma also spoke of difficulties in recruiting the right people to boost business growth. More than 70 talented employees in Silicon Valley failed to meet demands related to fluent English skills or technical knowledge, while knowing little about business during 2000, he explained. 

He also called the integration of resources after investment in Yahoo China a 'painful experience'.

"What we need is the most suitable and not necessarily the best talents."

"It would be a tragedy to equip a tractor with a Boeing 747 engine," he stressed.

Ma added that globalization doesn't have to entail building factories or doing business with foreign countries. Enterprises could still be globalized even without business abroad.
