Tasmania adds Chinese translators to Skilled Occupation List

(ECNS) -- Tasmania, an island state of Australia, has added "Chinese Interpreter" and "Chinese Translator" to its Skilled Occupation List to attract Chinese immigrants, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reports.

Eight more occupations have been added to the skilled immigrant list, namely Chinese Translator, Chinese Interpreter, Orchard Grower, Wheat Grower, Vegetable Grower, Manager (Restaurant or Café), Orthopedic Surgeon and Medical Physicist.

Chinese Translators and Chinese Interpreters must receive accreditation to operate in Australia.
