Tencent to offer credit scores  

騰訊擬推互聯(lián)網(wǎng)征信體系 正申請(qǐng)牌照

近日，財(cái)付通信用產(chǎn)品和業(yè)務(wù)中心高級(jí)總監(jiān)吳丹在2014騰訊全球合作伙伴大會(huì)上表示，騰訊即將推出互聯(lián)網(wǎng)征信體系。據(jù)吳丹介紹，這個(gè)征信體系的基礎(chǔ)是建立在騰訊大數(shù)據(jù)能力上，通過分析出對(duì)用戶行為記錄，向金融機(jī)構(gòu)提供用戶評(píng)級(jí)信息。[查看全文]

(ECNS) -- China's Tencent Holdings Ltd. is set to provide individual credit reports to financial institutions.

The Internet giant has subsidies in instant messaging, social media, mass media, e-commerce and online gaming.

Wu Dan, Senior Director of Credit Products and Service at TenPay, Tencent's online payment service, said the company's credit reports will be based on data pertaining to consumer behavior in engaging with its products and services.

According to Wu, more than 800 million people in China use Tencent products, and the data would provide new angles to assess user credit conditions, as a complement to credit reports issued by the Central Bank.

To do this, Tencent needs to acquire a license from the government. When it comes to privacy, Wu said the company would seek permission from users before disclosing their credit scores.

It is reported that Alibaba Group has similar plans.

China has been encouraging the setup of its own credit rating system. The government has been trying to launch a social credit record system since August to cover citizens, corporations and various organizations.

Pan Gongsheng, Vice Governor of the Central Bank, said Internet companies have a big advantage with their big data on consumers.
