(ECNS) -- An autobiographical film about former Chinese tennis superstar Li Na is on the agenda, Southeast Morning Post reported, citing her agent Max Eisenbud.
The screenplay will be based on Li's autobiography "My Life", in which she tells her remarkable story of ups and downs with both honesty and humor.
Eisenbud said the film is designed to not only show the legend's story to China, but also to the rest of the world.
Rumor says it will be directed by famous Chinese director and producer Peter Chan, known for "Comrades: Almost a Love Story". However, his assistant denied this, saying it hasn't been decided.
The two-time Grand Slam winner announced her retirement in mid-September due do knee injuries. She wouldn't return to play competitive tennis again, Li later said.
She won her first Grand Slam title at the French Open in 2011 and the second in Australia early this year.
