(ECNS) -- Beijing's commerce department has pledged to help shift regional logistics and wholesale centers to the neighboring port city of Tianjin as part of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integration blueprint, the Beijing News said.

Shi Yuqiang, from the commerce department in neighboring Hebei province, said at a forum in Shijiangzhuang city that commerce authorities in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei have signed an action plan to build cross-regional commerce and circulation markets.

After seeing the full text of the plan, reporters found that Beijing's commerce department would provide support in moving regional logistic centers and wholesale businesses out to Tianjin municipality.

The department also will encourage foreign traders to build storehouses and circulation centers in Tianjin.

"The action plan encourages the retail trade businesses of the three regions to coordinate for development," Shi said, adding that they are also mulling a logistics standardization trial to accelerate delivery speed and a unified e-commerce platform.

Direct sales outlets for agricultural products from Hebei will be built in Beijing, and Beijing's state-owned agribusiness groups will build food resources bases in Hebei.

Beijing is struggling under the weight of a 20-million-plus population, and is often wreathed in heavy smog, which has pushed its living conditions to the limit.
