Shenzhen subway loosens restriction on knives, flammables

深圳于9月初制訂出臺了《深圳市地鐵對限帶物品安全檢查操作規范》(試行)。其中，在對民用生活生產工具的規定上，強調了物品造成危害的可能性，在限帶刀具的種類、規格、數量上都有規定，如菜刀、水果刀、餐刀、剪刀、工藝刀、工具刀等刀具的刀刃部分在10厘米以上的認定為限帶刀具；在安全保障上，要求進站物品必須是包裝完好或采取包纏措施。[查看全文]

(ECNS) -- Users of the Shenzhen metro can now carry certain types of knives and scissors on subway trains, the Southern Metropolis Daily has reported.

The local public security bureau has issued a new regulation, allowing cutting tools with blades over 10 centimeters long to be taken on subways, as long as they are well wrapped.

The allowed tools also include kitchen knives, fruit knives, table knives, craft knives and utility knives.

Flammables including white spirits, hair mousses, hair sprays and hair dyes are also allowed in small quantities.

The move comes after the city tightened subway security checks on August 15, causing complaints from passengers about the restrictions.

As to the public's concern about radiation from security scanners, an unnamed director said the scanners generate a much lower dose of radiation than allowed by the national standard.

"If a passenger gets scanned four times a day, the whole dose he receives in a year is just one fiftieth of what he gets on a flight from Shenzhen to Beijing," he added.
