Large patrol vessel delivered to coastal province

(ECNS) -- The largest patrol vessel in the coastal province of Fujian was delivered to the local marine department on Monday.

The ship "Haixun 0805" can patrol sea areas against strong winds up to scale 10. It can also transmit real-time data and images with satellite telecom facilities, radar and global positioning system.

Helicopters can land on its deck and conduct surveillance from the air.

The ship is expected to respond quickly to emergencies such as oil spills, ship collisions and rescue in the central and northern part of Taiwan Straits, the Fuzhou Maritime Safety Administration said.
