Financial experiment zone mulled in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei border

(ECNS) -- Financial departments in Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei province are considering a new financial experiment zone in the border area linking the three regions, china.com reported Wednesday, citing a Tianjin official.

According to the initial plan, the zone will be built in the area linking Beijing's Daxing district, Tianjin's Wuqing district, and Hebei province's Langfang.

The zone would boost economic development in the three regions with the help of financial innovation and reform, according to the official.

Shen Hong, vice director of Beijing's financial affairs office, said on Tuesday that the three regions have reached a consensus, but cooperation details are still under discussion, and no formal agreement was reached.

A joint conference on setting up the zone will be held soon, Shen added.
