Full-size replica of Egyptian Sphinx built in Hebei

(ECNS) -- A full-scale replica of world renowned monument the Great Sphinx of Giza has been constructed at the Donggou village of Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, according to cnr.cn on Monday.

The structure is part of an outdoor film studio located in Donggou village of Shijiazhuang.

Instead of being made with stones, the statue has a reinforced steel framework and a concrete body.

Camera crews and actors were seen filming inside the fake monument on Saturday.

The statue has attracted some visitors who said that now they don't have to go to Egypt to see the real one.
