Over 50,000 sets a day have been selling after the marketing campaign was launched at the end of April, according to Wu Sisi, sales manager at the company.

Since the set became popular around the country, it has made its way into markets in regions outside Hainan province, Wu said.

Over one million snack sets have been sold between April 11 and May 10, and sales volume reached 19 million yuan during that time.

Only 70 to 80 percent of orders can be filled, even after the snack maker almost tripled production.

"Our target is to meet the goal of 10 million yuan in sales of the set before the end of 2014," Wu said. "The company is planning to offer more snack sets to meet consumer demands."
