(ECNS) -- Families of the Chinese passengers aboard the missing Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 issued a statement Tuesday morning condemning the Malaysian government, military and Malaysian Airlines after being informed that the plane had gone down in the southern Indian Ocean.[Special coverage]

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak announced the plane's fate on Monday night, adding that the conclusion was based on an unprecedented analysis of satellite data.

The families issued the statement at about 2am on Tuesday, saying that Malaysian Prime Minister announced the plane crashed in the southern Indian Ocean without any direct evidence, and that during the past 18 days Malaysian Airlines and the Malaysian government and military had constantly tried to delay and deceive the passengers' families and cheat the whole world.

The shameless behavior not only hurt the families of the 154 Chinese passengers but also misguided and delayed rescue missions, and wasted human resources and valuable time, it said.

If the passengers have been killed because of this negligence, Malaysia Airlines, the Malaysian government and its military are the real executioners, it added.

The statement signed by the committee of families has been posted online via Sina Weibo account.

The committee also said online that only some of the families had received English text messages before the briefing.

When Malaysia's prime minister announced that none of the 229 passengers had survived, some of the grief-stricken relatives had to be wheeled from the briefing room on stretchers, Chinadaily.com.cn reported.
