(ECNS) -- An elderly man in Chongqing municipality has become a sensation, as he was spotted breezing along the street on an electric scooter every day, Chongqing Evening News said.

Han, 66, bought the vehicle last October for 3,300 yuan ($544). "I couldn't walk much due to my arthritic feet," he said.

The foldable scooter, weighing 12 kilograms, can travel up to 25 to 32 kilometers after recharging, he said, adding it can attain a high speed of 35 kilometers per hour, which brings him a sense of speed as well as convenience.

Han then demonstrated how he rides it. After several pushes on the ground with a foot, he stood on the scooter and moved forward.

Now he breezes to the vegetable market, library and other places all on the scooter. "You've got style," neighbors told him.
