Naked ‘Asian Spiderman’ climbs alpaca-shaped cliff

Zhangjiajie (ECNS) -- Chinese climber Li Tongxing succeeded in climbing a 100-meter-high cliff in Zhangjiajie, Hunan province, on Saturday, all while wearing no clothes.

Crowned as the "Asian Spiderman," Li has previously climbed to the summit of Mount Tianzhu in Anhui province, also while naked.

Li has received strong opposition from the media and the public, who said his activity is a kind of self-promoting behavior. Li hasn't even been supported by his wife, who once tried to stop him with the threat of divorce.

"Climbing mountains naked is a kind of art for me, rather than a show," said Li.

At around 10 o'clock in the morning, Li took off his clothes and started climbing the cliff.

Li put on protective gear after climbing up for about 30 meters amid a force-five wind.

About an hour and a half later, Li reached the top of the cliff. Standing proudly at the top, he shouted "I love you, Zhangjiajie! I love you, my wife!"

The cliff is named after the "Grass Mud Horse" or "Caonima," supposedly a species of alpaca.
