(ECNS) -- Huizhou traffic police in Guangdong province shot a funny educational microfilm to promote traffic safety, in which they play characters from the Chinese classic novel "Journey to the West."

The microfilm features the comic adventure story of "Journey to the West." In the first episode, a beautiful "red light monster" seduces the monk Xuanzang, Pigsy and Sandy to cross a road against red lights, but Monkey King beats the monster away and saves them from a dangerous trap.

A traffic officer said it was produced to promote traffic safety awareness with a sense of humor, which is more important than controlling road traffic.

He added that more episodes on road safety will be made.

Huizhou traffic police made headlines recently for making a music video to mark National Traffic Safety Day, in which four men and five women performed dance routines mixed with traffic signal gestures to the soundtrack of Crayon Pop's viral song "Bar Bar Bar."
