School accused of marking students for expulsion

(ECNS) – A private middle school in Dongguan, Guangdong province, has asked teachers to make lists of students who should be expelled if they do not improve by the end of the semester, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported, citing a student at the school.

"Every class has four names on the list," the student at Dalang Shuilin School said. "If they make trouble in the final weeks, the school won't charge them 200 yuan for the next semester and will ask them to find another school."

The school has said that troublesome students would affect its development, as well as the teachers' work, the student added.

"They also said that if the number of out-of-control students in a class surpasses the quota, the school would expand the number."

A deputy headmaster surnamed Mu said they hadn't made such lists, but that they had asked teachers to report students who performed poorly and didn't behave well.

"We plan to arrange tutors for troubled students and help them for the final exams," said Mu.

The school wouldn't dismiss any students casually, Mu added.
