(ECNS) -- A district of east China's Nanjing city has invented a psychological test that helps determine whether civil servants have corrupt tendencies, the Yangtze Evening Post reports.

The first of its kind in China, the test includes 34 questions designed to find out if officials are likely to earn money illegally or have extramarital affairs.

Along with the test, a handbook will be given to every civil servant in the district.

Feng Wenlan, secretary of the discipline inspection commission of the district, said they created the test after interviewing 47 former officials in prison, and surveying another 200 criminals via questionnaires.

Di Xiaohua, a leading professor at Nanjing University, said the questions mainly serve as reminders to officials who might face temptation.
