China issues 4G network licenses to operators  

工信部向三大運營商發放4G牌照 4G商用正式開啟

(ECNS) -- China issued three 4G mobile network licenses to operators on Wednesday afternoon, including China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom.

The licenses are for the domestically developed TD-LTE standard rather than the more international FDD-LTE, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
