(ECNS) -- Chinese parents will get access to detailed product information on infant formula imported from New Zealand in the future, the New Zealand Infant Formula Exporters Association (NZIFEA) said on Tuesday.

Michael Barnett, chairman of the group, made the remarks during a signing ceremony for an understanding memorandum with China's inspection authorities.

Barnett said it is a step toward gaining confidence from Chinese consumers after dairy giant Fonterra's botulism scare.

A staffer from China's inspection authorities said Chinese consumers can find out where the infant formula was produced by scanning the 2-dimentional codes, and even a video of the production process will be offered.
