5-year US visas for Chinese expected: Locke  

赴美或可由“一年多行”放寬為“五年多行”

(ECNS) -- The US is expected to issue five-year multiple entry visas to Chinese businessmen, students and travelers, according to US Ambassador to China Gary Locke.

Locke made the remarks while visiting the US Consulate General in Guangzhou on Wednesday.

"Ever since becoming the ambassador, over the past two years, I.ve made it a top priority to reduce visa interview wait times for applicants in China,. Locke said.

The US Embassy is also planning to optimize the visa processing system by sending approved visas to the homes of Chinese applicants, Locke added.

At present, Chinese applicants can only pick up their approved visas at branches of China Citic Bank.
