Man arrested for making terror threat online

(ECNS) -- A man who claimed to have established a terrorist organization targeting government official has been arrested by police in Zaoyang, Hubei province.

The man surnamed Du was arrested Monday for spreading "false and misleading statements online," according to local police.

Du had said on his Sina Weibo account that he intended to establish a "terrorist organization targeting greedy government officials," a claim made in response to a forced demolition case in Hubei's Huangshi city.

After interrogation, Du confessed to fabricating and spreading terrorist messages, and was given six days in "administrative detention."
