(ECNS) -- Four taxi-hailing apps have been connected to Beijing's official unified booking platform, and citizens can download them at www.96106bjtaxi.cn or other app stores, the city's transport commission said on Tuesday.

The four apps, Yida, Yibu, Yaoyao and Didi, have been integrated into the platform and are prefixed with 96106, the taxi-hailing hotline number, the commission said.

Drivers can respond to e-orders through terminals in their taxis or mobile apps. If an order created through an app gets no response, the platform will broadcast it to all drivers using different apps, said the commission, adding that old versions of the four apps will be out of service in a month.

The standard for tipping drivers has been fixed and extra fare is forbidden, and drivers using apps not connected to the official booking platform are forbidden to charge extra fees, the commission added.
