Hong Kong (CNS) -- The ability to speak Mandarin is becoming increasingly important for job seekers in Hong Kong, according to a report released by Hudson, an international human resource company.

The job prospects for foreign employees who can't speak Mandarin are fewer, as more and more positions are linked with businesses in the mainland, said Tony Pownall, general manager of Hudson's Hong Kong branch.

The most wanted employees are Chinese overseas returnees, because they boast strong language skills and the ability to adapt culturally, Pownall added.

The survey covers 5,400 employers from multinationals in China's mainland, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Singapore.
