UK envoy welcomes investment from China   

英國大使“強(qiáng)烈支持”中國投資 強(qiáng)調(diào)華為安全可靠

曾被美國機(jī)構(gòu)描繪為“潛在特洛伊木馬”的中國投資6日得到了英國官員的“強(qiáng)烈支持”。

Beijing (CNS) -- The British government welcomes investment from China, according to Sebastian Wood, the British Ambassador to China, on Monday.

Over 400 Chinese businesses including China Mobile, China Telecom, Changan Automotive Group and Huawei Technologies have opened operations in Britain, he said.

Wood pointed out that policy makers in the UK believe a free and open market is key to the sound development of the global economy.

In contrast to the US government's precautionary attitude towards Huawei, policy makers in the UK hold an open attitude toward the Chinese telecom and computer network giant, he added.

As a long-term investor for Britain, Huawei has provided sound and reliable services to its British clients, said Wood, adding that Huawei has also contributed to job creation in Britain.

Huawei is expected to invest 1.3 billion pounds to expand its operations in Britain over the next five years, a move which is expected to create 700 jobs, said Wood.
