(ECNS) -- Kaohsiung officials have invited artist Florentijn Hofman's 16.5m tall inflatable yellow rubber duck to come to the port of Kaohsiung, according to Taiwan-based portal www.bcc.com.tw.
The city's mayor Chen Chu said that Kaohsiung is the perfect place for the rubber duck among cities in Taiwan.
She said suggestions for exhibition locations in Kaohsiung have been sent to the Dutch artist for consideration.
A city official said they will go to Hong Kong and communicate with the artist in June.
Keelung, another city in Taiwan, has also invited the giant rubber duck to attract tourists and boost the economy.
