受H7N9禽流感疫情影響，中國多地近來紛紛撲殺家禽，市場上禽肉類價格也明顯下跌。
Beijing (CNS) -- Local governments in China have come up with measures to subsidize poultry breeders who have suffered from the H7N9 influenza outbreak.
The central government announced on Monday 600 million yuan ($97 million) in subsidies for poultry farmers, to ease the damage caused by the H7N9 bird flu scare and to stabilize market supply.
Poultry farmers have been slaughtering baby chicks because of falling demand and prices, amid the H7N9 fears, and insiders said the industry may see a supply crunch in the next few months.
Major poultry-processing companies will receive short-term subsidized loans, and local financial institutions are encouraged to offer credit aid to breeders and companies.
Local governments, including Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Shandong, and Henan, also released plans to support poultry breeders.
Shanghai government has set aside 32 million yuan to help local poultry farmers.
Latest figures from the China Animal Agriculture Association show that since the H7N9 influenza outbreak, the poultry industry has recorded an estimated loss of more than 40 billion yuan.
