Beijing (CNS) -- China has put more effort into publicizing scientific knowledge about preventing the new strain of bird flu.
On Monday, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention launched a special online column that includes the latest information about H7N9, infection list, clinical symptoms and how to prevent infections.
A program aimed at promoting more care for the elderly was started last Sunday by the China International Exchange and Promotion Association for Medical and Health Care, as scientific research showed that the new strain of bird flu hits the elderly hardest.
Health authorities confirmed two more cases of H7N9 infections last week, bringing the total to 129, and the death toll climbed to 31, with 42 recovered.
