記者18日從廣東東莞市政府獲悉，在當(dāng)日舉行的第三屆中國自主創(chuàng)新年會(huì)上，東莞市榮獲2012年最具成長性創(chuàng)新型城市稱號(hào)。
Dongguan (CNS) -- Guangdong province's Dongguan was named "the best growth innovative city" at the third session of Independent Innovation Annual Meeting, according to the local government on Thursday.
Dongguan attaches great importance to technological innovation and has been ranked among the top 50 innovative cities in China.
The city now is home to over 3,500 technological corporations. The number of patent applications and grants ranks among the top three in Guangdong province.
In recent years, the municipal government of Dongguan has escalated its investment into the science and technological sector, according to Mayor Yuan Baocheng.
A total of 2 billion yuan ($323.5 million) is being injected annually into local businesses to support their innovation of technologies related to solar photovoltaic, electronic vehicles, and high-end electronic information, Yuan said.
Moving forward, Dongguan will give priority to building an innovative economy by establishing key industry cluster districts, in order to boost the integration of the financial sector and the industrial sector, Yuan added.
