上海交通大學16日宣布其“南洋學堂”網絡視頻公開課(http://ocw.sjtu.edu.cn)正式上線。
Shanghai (CNS) -- An online learning resource platform (http://ocw.sjtu.edu.cn) was launched by Shanghai Jiao Tong University on Tuesday.
A total of 42 courses will be added to the official website of the OpenCourseWare Consortium, allowing learners around the world to access the courses for free.
Online courses have already changed the global distribution of educational resources, which poses challenges to traditional methods of teaching. The education community in China should pay attention to the trend, said Huang Zhen, vice-president of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, at a press conference.
The OpenCourseWare Consortium is a community of over 200 universities and associated organizations worldwide.
The mission of the OpenCourseWare Consortium is to advance learning through the worldwide sharing and use of free, open, high-quality educational materials.
Shanghai Jiao Tong University is the first mainland university to join the consortium.
