Beijing (CNS) -- China's Ministry of Agriculture met on Tuesday with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations to exchange views on the prevention and control of H7N9 avian influenza.
The two sides discussed further cooperation in the fields of serological surveillance and epidemiological surveys.
The Ministry of Agriculture also updated the FAO on its surveillance and control of H7N9 infections, and the FAO commended China on its quick response to the virus.
The release of detailed information on the nature of the virus allows the public to take precautions, and gives institutions more time to evaluate the potential impact on humans and animals, according to Zhang Zhongjun, assistant FAO representative in China.
