Beijing (CNS) -- Final winners of the inaugural 2013 San Francisco Chinese Students Micro-film Festival will get an opportunity to learn from award-winning directors, according to the program organizer on Monday.
The festival was designed to provide a platform for talented university students around the world to showcase their creations in short films and video making.
To protect the non-commercial nature of the competition, all the judges of the event are directors or scholars in the film world.
A total of 18 American universities and student organizations have signed up for the event.
Students from 22 Chinese universities, including Tsinghua University and Wuhan University, have also registered for the festival.
The selection of short films for the festival started in December. Hundreds of short films have been submitted to program organizers.
The competition judging will begin in May, and an award ceremony will be held in San Francisco on June 6.
