Sun embraced his coach at the request of reporters.
Hangzhou (CNS) -- Olympic champion Sun Yang, together with his coach, met the press Monday for the first time after their reunion.
Sun Yang and his longtime coach Zhu Zhigen stepped out of the Zhejiang swimming center around 3 p.m. Monday. It was the first time for the two to appear together in public after reconciliation.
Sun told reporters that he didn't stop swimming, but was only absent from intensive training.
Zhu said that Sun needs time to return to an ideal physical state.
At last, Sun embraced his coach at the request of reporters, which ended the short press meeting. Then they went back to the training pool together.
Their 10-year relationship had turned sour after the swimmer reportedly asked for a new coach in January and Sun was punished by Zhejiang College of Sports for breaking team rules.
