Smog traps ships in Tianjin Port

Tianjin (CNS) -- At least 137 ships were trapped at the Port of Tianjin on Sunday because of heavy smog.

Visibility in the sea area around the city began decreasing on Saturday afternoon, eventually dropping to less than 1,000 meters, according to the Tianjin Maritime Safety Administration.

Real-time monitoring data from the local environmental bureau showed that the density of PM2.5 and poisonous gases such as sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide exceeded normal levels Sunday.
