Beijing (CNS) — China has made progress in reducing food waste since the recent launch of a national campaign, according to the China Cuisine Association on Thursday.
A survey conducted by the association shows that 20 percent of catering companies reported that no food had been wasted since the campaign began. That 20 percent is made up mostly of fast-food restaurants.
Over 60 percent of the surveyed companies said they had posted notices in their dining halls to encourage customers to save food.
Only 6 percent of the polled restaurants said they had taken no action to reduce food waste.
