Beijing (CNS) -- China's railway traffic volume has increased dramatically with the approach of Spring Festival, according to the Ministry of Railways on Wednesday.
More than a million passengers have been transported daily by the Guangzhou Railway Group, a trend that is expected to persist until Friday.
The Beijing Railway Bureau transported 777,500 people on Wednesday alone. The bureau said it will add 57 temporary trains to ease traffic pressure.
A total of 543.74 million people have been transported by the railway as off Monday this week.
The travel rush will experience a peak on Wednesday and Thursday, said the ministry.
