Dongxing(CNS) -- An official from north China's Hebei Province who fled to Vietnam was captured in Mong Cai on Tuesday, according to police in Dongxing, Guangxi.
Song Jianzhong, chief of Hebei's Bureau of Land and Resources, has been under investigation for taking bribes of 1.5 million yuan (US$238,300) from 2008 to 2011.
Song fled to Vietnam with his mistress surnamed Ren. The pair was transferred to Hebei on Wednesday, where they will remain in police custody until trial.
