Accidents spike on BJ-HK-Macao Expressway  

京港澳高速韶關段兩天發生101宗事故

春節將至，中國南北交通大動脈京港澳高速廣東韶關段(俗稱京珠北)北上返鄉過年的車流自2日開始現井噴。密集的車流導致該路段車禍不斷，從2日凌晨至3日17時至少發生101起交通事故。

Shaoguan (CNS) -- A total of 101 car accidents occurred in last weekend on the Shaoguan section of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway in Guangdong province, according to Shaoguan traffic police on Sunday.

Sixty-one accidents happened Saturday, and forty on Sunday, police said.

Five people were killed after a tanker collided with 10 cars on the section on Saturday afternoon.

Police said traffic volume on the Shaoguan section reached 90,000 on Saturday alone.

Aggressive driving and reckless passing of other cars were among the major reasons for the accidents.
