Shijiazhuang (CNS) -- Mao Xinyu, grandson of the late Chinese leader Mao Zedong, visited Shijiangzhuang over the weekend to publicize the 120th anniversary celebration of Chairman Mao's birth.
The best way to memorialize Chairman Mao is to enrich and develop Marxism and push forward socialism in China that Mao created, Mao Xinyu said on Sunday.
Mao Xinyu said the year 2013 is another important period for deepening reform and opening up, as well as developing Maoism.
Many students in colleges and high schools know little about the history of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the development of Marxism, Mao said. Prize-winning quizzes would be employed to encourage more people to learn related knowledge during the celebration, he added.
Mao visited Xibaipo, an old revolutionary base in Hebei province, on Saturday.
