“對觀眾而言,你用不用心給他們唱,每個人都能體會到。”接受中新社記者專訪時,宋祖英笑著說。
Beijing (CNS) -- Song Zuying, the "Reigning Queen" of Chinese folk songs, said on Thursday that she "sings with heart" no matter how small the audience is.
Even if there is only one person listening, a singer should perform from the heart, she said.
Song will embark on a concert tour of the United States this month. "I hope the audience there will feel my passion."
Song told reporters that she has selected several well-known songs and will add some new musical elements to the concerts.
Song is reportedly scheduled to sing a duet version of the Chinese classic "Jasmine Flower" with international pop diva Celine Dion at the coming CCTV Spring Festival Gala. "It is a novel experience for me to cooperate with a female singer," said Song, who has performed with famous male artists like Jay Chou and Lang Lang.
The singer has performed at the Spring Festival Gala for 22 consecutive years.
