記者31日從中國公安部交通管理局獲悉，自1月新交規開始實施至今，全國嚴重交通違法行為大幅減少，各地共查處違反交通信號燈指示通行137.1萬起，同比下降40%，路口交通事故下降明顯，因路口違反交通信號燈導致的交通事故起數、死亡人數同比分別下降12.2%和25.6%。
Beijing (CNS) – China's number of traffic violations declined significantly in January following the implementation of new regulations, according to the Traffic Management Bureau on Thursday.
A total of 1.37 million traffic light violations were reported across the country in the past month, a decrease of 40 percent compared to the same period last year, the bureau said. The number of accidents and deaths resulting from traffic light violations also decreased by 12.2 percent and 25.6 percent respectively.
Running red lights and speeding were largely to blame for accidents.
In addition, 14,000 cases of improper use of license plates were reported during the month, a 71.5 percent drop compared to the same period last year, according to the bureau.
