Beijing (CNS) - During the 12th Five-Year Period, China will comprehensively solve the problem of 3.76 million people not having electricity, according to Tan Rongyao, director of the State Electricity Regulatory Commission, on Wednesday.
This year alone, 1.2 million of those are expected to be given access to electricity, he said.
Tan said that since 2012, the State Grid Corporation has invested 181.6 billion yuan in grid construction, a year-on-year growth of 9.1 percent. The Southern Power Grid Company has invested 37.64 billion yuan in grid construction, covering most of the people in its business area, he added.
The five major local power supply companies have invested 8.21 billion yuan in power grid construction, a year-on-year growth of 7.2 percent, he said.
