5 mln train trips on first day of travel rush  

春運首日中國鐵路發送旅客525.6萬人次

中國鐵道部27日披露，1月26日春運首日全國鐵路發送旅客525.6萬人次；共開行客車4516列，其中開行臨時旅客列車358列，旅客列車運輸秩序良好。

Beijing (CNS) -- China's railway network handled 5.26 million trips on the first day of the Spring Festival travel rush Saturday, according to the Ministry of Railways.

The ministry said it arranged 4,516 passenger trains on the day, with 358 trains added temporarily.

The Beijing Railway Bureau, which also supervises the network in Tianjin and Hebei province, handled 612,000 trips, a year-on-year increase of 6.6 percent.

The bureau said 1,027 volunteers worked at 15 stations, including Beijing Railway Station, Beijing West Railway Station, Shijiazhuang Railway Station and Tianjin Railway Station.
